I sit and watch

As I sit and watch I pay no real attention.
I lose myself in a world that's not my own.
With flashing faces appearing in front of an ever changing backdrop
I flip through a picture book that lacks narration.
Within another's story I find my own.
Animating a collage of shared experiences and crossed paths.

On solid ground we sit and await our next fall.
It’s the inherent expectation that once again the wave will break.
By believing the signs that lead us in circles we know our next move before we’ve planned our last.
We seem to have fallen into an orbit.
We seem to be revolving around our own self-intelligence.
One thing that I have noticed is that the harder we try to solve the answerless questions in life the further we are pulled into the black hole that we are digging for ourselves.

Let us celebrate our inability to house all knowledge for this humbles us.
Let us praise the possibility of impossibility for this encourages reasoning.

Take a look around you and let us ask why alone each individual’s fantasy is to take on the universe but forget that together we can make it a reality.

Let us cherish our flaws as a species for they are reminders we have left for ourselves to say “You know what we are only human, we will make mistakes.”

And lastly let us laugh at ourselves for ever believing that if we concentrated hard enough or stared for long enough we would be able to blast that glass across the room with our laser-vision.
